Who is The Dispatch?

Jon Evans & Robb Chen-Ware are co-founders of The Dispatch. Having previously helped grow and eventually sell product engineering firm HappyFunCorp in their roles as CTO and COO respectively, the pair decided to build something new together drawing from their experience helping dozens of firms of all stripes develop software products and teams.

What kind of reports can a company receive?

The Dispatch, as a platform, features flexible task pipelines, prompt customization, and adaptable frontend elements, making it simple to create reports for individuals and teams across various roles.

The Dispatch as a platform has a flexible task pipelines, prompt customization, and flexible frontend elements which makes it simple to create reports for individuals and teams across a variety of roles.

Common examples are:

  • Product and Engineering Managers which receive more detailed reports of individual projects that includes progres, risks, and velocity
  • Exceutives & Department heads which receive roll-up summaries of all projects
  • Teams which receive updates on activities within their team and related teams

What do reports look like?

There is a lot of flexibility, and paid customers have access to more integrations & variant reports, but you can see public reports or try the demo to get a sample.

What does The Dispatch cost?

We're discovering the right way to price The Dispatch in keeping with our mission to be values-aligned with our clients. Currently we are taking a (roughly) usage-based approach where a monthly fee is based on the number of reports we generate.

Where does my data go?

The platform caches the necessary data to generate reports, sends it to the LLM (primarily GPT-4), and stores the output. Data sent to OpenAI via their API is — unlike that sent as ordinary ChatGPT questions — never used to train their models. We delete all customer data upon request.

Can I run The Dispatch on my cloud?

It is possible but not recommended. We can run any of our reports against open-source LLMs like Mixtral, however quality will suffer vs leveraging the best available option, which at time of writing is GPT-4 Turbo. Reach out to discuss tradeoffs with us.

If I become a customer or design partner, will my feature request be implemented?

We prioritize requests from our customers and design partners, balancing our platform's overall priorities. If a feature request fits our priorities and has clear value to multiple stakeholders, we are very likely to implement that feature. We've already implemented several features, like Slack, Figma, and Azure integrations, as well as quantified developer commit activity based on design parter requests.

What about hallucinations?

They're a problem when LLMs rely on their training data, vastly less so for in-context learning, our approach. We also have a proof-of-concept which fact-checks reports against their input data, again with an LLM.
